Etsy Monday! Resolution Edition, Issue #15: Stay In Touch

Welcome to yet another Etsy Monday! Issue for our New Years Resolutions!

Sometimes I find myself so busy with projects that I forget I have friends!  Ideas can pile and pile up and I find myself so immersed in work that a good few months could go by without a phone call.  It's something that I'd like to improve on this year; spending more time with friends and family that seem to go by the wayside of the fruits of my labour.  I have extended family in Western Canada (Alberta and British Columbia) who like to send handwritten letters and small gifts; receiving these packages always brighten my day.  There's no feeling in the world that's better than receiving handwritten correspondence; an artform slowly dwindling away.

For this issue, I'd like to feature a few sellers that can help you stay in touch with the people you love!

LaPapierre.etsy.com
This lovely shop originating from Quebec, Canada is on a mission to keep "snail mail" alive!  Julie enjoys writing letters (as quite prominently stated in her Etsy profile) and provides the world with beautiful stationary in her Etsy shop, La Papierre, to make it a better place "one letter at a time."  And a little surprise for yourself when you open your La Papierre purchase - a matching bookmark and postcard!  Visit Julie's shop for more surprises!

The Dress Form Search Continues!

Thanks to the friends and family who have helped me on my search for a dress form/mannequin for jewelry display and product photography.  I've seen photographs of many beautiful jewelry displays, draped over vintage forms, providing an illusion without a live model how the piece will sit on the body's natural curves.  I'm very excited to get my hands on one and try some photography experiments!  Check out these inspirational photos of dress forms being used as jewelry displays.

The ideal dress form for me!

And, of course, all of this got me distracted into making another Etsy Treasury!  Enjoy!

Colour Inspirations For The SHOUT! Girls!

I have a rather large collection of beads that I've been amassing over the years.

"Oh, look!  These are sooo pretty!" is no longer an excuse to buy beads.  It's getting outta hand!  I do stand by a credo of 'finishing everything on your plate', and I'll use them somehow.  Maybe not directly in jewelry projects - my consideration for the Bead Soup Blog Party will be from this vast selection.  I also thought I'd put together a collection of beads for my Shout! girls for colour inspiration during the 'great costume hunt'.  The beads I had selected out of my stash had a vintage vibe to them, either being vintage themselves or having a 'mod' style.  Take a look at what goodies I pulled together for the lovely ladies!
