It's been jewelry, jewelry, jewelry lately, and why? Because I like jewelry, simply put. Even when I started making jewelry, I didn't really wear any, but I still love it. Nowadays, I've been striking gold with my own designs, feeling a glow like I've just created 'life'. I don't want to commit a 'sin of pride'. I've found myself light years ahead from where I started, and that wasn't too long ago. I have more plans in study of different trades and crafts that will certainly add to the fruits of my imagination.
We've got signature pieces as artists, and we've got our 'favourite looks', and like the bracelet I made on Day #38, the clusters add texture, movement, variety with so many different opportunities in colour options and combinations. I also enjoy unlikely combinations that compliment each other, whether it be colours, beads or materials, and try to throw them together in a 'wearable' way.
On Day #39, I had made a necklace to complete the trifecta I had begun the day before with the aforementioned bracelet and earrings. The rest of the 'Jackson Pollock' beads were used in fine taste, with some round black beads of different shapes among the clear glass tubes splattered with red paint. It drapes oh so nicely, and wore it to work with the matching earrings from the previous day. Compliments o'plenty, especially on the 'Pollock' beads. I credit to the choice on the setting of the beads; anything else would had just been cheesy.
That, dear friends, brings us to Day #40, bringing us to another Mr. Frog adventure! I had a round brown pendant on a necklace I had purchased from a department store once upon a time, then had been upcycled and recycled into so many different pieces. Again, I have found its permanent home, serving as a 'jumping point' for Mr. Frog to leap to his next destination. My love affair with tigers eye continues (and shall remain!), and was really lucky to find some calcite chips that brought a colour element from the pendant really well into the rest of the necklace. I'm also on a mission to use up the rest of the small red jasper beads I had purchased from Earthworks (originally purchased for the New Moon necklace!), just because they're too damn cute to be left in a stash somewhere. Red jasper hearts are scattered among jet, calcite and tigers eye chips with black glass tube beads, in the same fashion as the 'Day #38 bracelet'. I've also made a matching pair of earrings for the necklace.
I think I should just let these babies go and list them on my Etsy shop, whaddayathink? Especially a lot of this stuff from the original September Make n' Tell Challenge. With the (Canadian) Thanksgiving long weekend upon us, I have turkey and a day off to be thankful for, and will most likely start the posting madness either on Sunday evening or Monday afternoon.

Love, love, love the collar shape of the Pollock bead necklace. And, yes, I think you should post your latest creations in your Etsy shop. Although I understand the dilemma of holding on to your best stuff vs. letting it go.

I still wear that necklace all the time, but I'll post the Mr. Safari Frog necklace ... He'll find a good pad to settle into! (See what I did there?)
